Cosmic Heart - Installation for Cosmic Slop #10 -18/02/11

This was made for Cosmic Slops valentines special. The hearts connected to a pulley system that makes it beat, and lit up from the inside with dimmer controlled LEDs.

The heart was a great success, with lots of people getting involved with making it beat and making the room feel like we were in a chest belonging to a giant on speed.

  Great night too, as always

Many thanks to Tom Smith for commissioning the installation and helping with its development,

and everyone who pulled my heartstrings……..

…….*that was pretty sickening but i had to do it*

######Video of the heart in action coming soon######

I forgot about this. Made by myself and Christopher Holloran, August 2009, Beelitz, Berlin

“The Beautiful Machine”- A short film made by myself, Damien Knightley and Joel Galvin. it took a lot longer than anticipated and even involved me and damien not looking eachother in the eye for a good hour or so..but its done and its bloody ruddy great

Video that was installed as part of the piece “Windmill”. It consists of me at five in the morning dressed up and pretending to be a tornado. luckily i didnt hit any of the pillars while spinning round and not knowing where i was. i had images of a security guard doing his rounds at 9 in the morn to find a makeshift tornado in a pool of blood with a pile of energy drinks close by. the energy drinks mustve heightened my spacial awareness.

Windmill

Windmill is an installation made on site at the old Tkmaxx space in Leeds for the show “The Plaza Principal”- a large scale Contemporary Art Exhibition curated by Chris Bloor and Derek Horton.

It was a great show, with over 40 artists involved with some amazing pieces. The plaza Principle website www.theplazaprinciple.org  will soon be updated with documentation of the whole show so definitely keep a look out for that. It was a pleasure to be involved in such an ambitious and exciting exhibition.

Cloud light installation @ Cosmic Slop, MAP Gallery, Leeds

The clouds were wired up individually to dimmers at a control point behind the dj so the clouds could be dark, bright or all over the place in correspondence to the music. There was also a strobe light installed behind the clouds. At one point with Tom Smith (DJ, Cosmic Slop organizer) in charge of the sounds of thunderstorms and me in charge of the clouds we turned the installation into a performance. with cheers from the crowd. Great night
